Bhandeni News

ON THE GROUND: Bhandeni News

  • Building has begun as part of the development of the Care Point at Bhandeni. The new building will incorporate the existing structure.

  • A new toilet pit has been dug for the Care Point. This was completed with the help of some of the youth.

  • A new toilet is also being provided for Gogo Josephine, a Primary Caregiver.

  • The Speers family team from Woodlands Community Church visited Bhandeni and were a great encouragement to the Care Workers, children and Primary Caregivers. They helped with various activities and projects at the Care Point during their time.

  • The youth from Bhandeni were part of a camp held in the summer, which went very well. The Speers family supported the camp and contributed to its success.

Points for Prayer & Praise 🙏

Praise God for improved facilities for both the Care Point and the community.

Pray that what God started in the children’s lives at the youth camp will grow and produce fruit.

Praise God that the Speers family were able to visit and connect with Bhandeni.

Matt Pitts visited in 2018, and again in July 2022. He was shown around the school, where various equipment is in dire need of repair, or replacing altogether. This include play equipment, school supplies and more.

The school and orphanage was established in 1994 and is supported by individuals and organisations, with a particular base of support coming from Bristol.

Prayer Week 2022

Welcome to Prayer Week, 2022!

We kicked off this year with two services focusing on prayer. You can catch up on both of those below. Tim Dobson explores different types of prayers, as well as a reminder on why prayer should be a part of our top priorities for the year ahead.

Matt Doherty in the evening then started the new evening service series ‘Living on a Prayer’, focusing on how we can use prayer as an opportunity to rejoice, even when times are hard.

Prayer Room

Our 24/7 Prayer Room is back! The theme of the room is "Found in the Desert" so book a slot to spend some time in prayer using the resources in the room. The link to book is below and we'll have a laptop at church on Sunday so you can book in there as well. Once you book you'll receive an email with the code to the key safe - please take your own drink and wrap up warm as we'll be ventilating the space regularly.

We have put an hour between each user and please do not use the room if you are feeling at all unwell or if a member of your houshold has tested positive for Covid. We are limiting the room to one user at a time except for members of the same household.

Post a Prayer

As a leadership team, we are committing to praying for a number of matters this week. If you’d like to submit a prayer request, you can do that here (either anonymously, or with a name so that we can follow up!).

Early Morning Prayer Meeting

Wednesday Morning at 7am

Join us on Zoom using these codes:

Meeting ID: 523 974 858
Passcode: 020513

There is also Prayer before the service every Sunday in the cafe area starting at 10am.

In keeping with Rob's word for the church this year let's get our priorities right and kick off 2022 with some time dedicated to prayer. We look forward to hearing all about what God has been saying to us.

Bristol Brickers Cancelled

Update: October 2021

Sadly, with the evenings getting darker and with no indoor venue to move to, we are having to cancel future Bristol Brickers sessions.

We are currently making enquiries with alternative venues and hope to have another update with better news as soon as possible. Keep watching this space, and connect with us on instagram to get all the latest updates.
